About Us

Always an avid photographer who carried a camera everywhere she went, Susan started the business full time in 1996 after numerous requests from friends and family to photograph their events. She never looked back and has seen the business grow and diversify each year. Since 2001 Susan Hornyak Photography has been voted into the Washingtonian Magazine’s Annual Guide of preferred wedding vendors.

"As the owner of this business, I work every job from start to finish and always have an additional photographer with me.  I feel it is important that my clients know that I personally work every job that we are hired to photograph. I am lucky to have wonderful photographers who work with me to provide the level of service that our clients want and deserve."

In addition to weddings, Susan also documents a variety of social and corporate events as well as bar and bat mitzvahs.  She does both corporate and family portraits in her Bethesda studio as well as on location.

Susan lives in Bethesda, MD with her husband and son.  She is a graduate of Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York.
